Software Engineering is the branch of Engineering that deals with the development of the Software in an effective, systematic and efficient manner.
"Software Engineering is the systematic application of scientific and technological knowledge, methods, and experience to the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of software."

A Software Engineer is the one who follow the principles of software engineering, theories and practices related  to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of computer software and applications. They have knowledge and skills to design, develop and utilize the latest software systems used in various fields. 

Pokhara University offers a 4 year course Bachelor in Software Engineering(BESE) which is very popular among the students. This course is designed in such a way that students acquire knowledge in  Engineering design, System Design, Software Development, Problem-Solving, Programming, Web technology, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Embedded Systems and Organization and Personnel Management. 

Eligibility:

Students should have secured at least the minimum of 'C' Grade in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12(+2) in the system of Letter Grading System. Or,

The students who having minimum score of 45% in I. Sc. or 10+2 (physical group or biological group with two paper mathematics) or diploma in engineering or an equivalent course recognized by Pokhara University can appear in the entrance examination conducted by Pokhara University, School of Engineering(School Of Engineering).

Only the students who have passed the entrance examination conducted by university are eligible for admission in  constituent campuses and affiliated colleges on merit basis. Some affilated colleges held the entrance examination on their own.
