Here below is the IOE BCE Syllabus (Bachelor in Civil Engineering) which is a most recent Syllabus or Course Content for Institute of Engineering (IOE) including affiliated Engineering Colleges and the Academic Institutions affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal.
Civil engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with designing, creating, connecting and building up the world around us. Everything you see that’s been built around us are the result of civil engineering. For example: roads and railways, schools, offices, hospitals, water and power supply and many more. Civil engineers design, build, supervise, operate, sustain, construct and maintain infrastructures, projects and other activities in the public, private and governmental sectors, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment. Most of the civil engineers work in planning, designing, construction, research, and education fields.
Tribhuvan University offers a 4 year course Bachelor in Civil Engineering which is very popular among the students.
Eligibility:
Students should have secured at least the minimum of 'C' Grade in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12(+2) in the system of Letter Grading System. Or,
The students who having minimum score of 45% in I. Sc. or 10+2 (physical group or biological group with two paper mathematics) or diploma in engineering or an equivalent course recognized by TU can appear in the entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering.
Only the students who have passed the entrance examination conducted by IOE are eligible for admission in IOE constituent campuses and affiliated colleges on merit basis.
Job and Career Opportunity:
Civil engineers must present their findings to the public on different topics such as project proposals, impacts of the construction work on the natural are and environment and both positive and negative aspects. Civil engineers work in design, construction, research, and educational sectors. Civil engineers work as a team with others on different projects and may be assisted by civil engineering technicians who are junior in skills than them. They verify that the projects that will comply with governmental plans and policies and local requirements.
